With 57% of students at A Level achieving A*-B grades, including 11% pupils achieving at least three A grades. The results underlined the continued dominance in STEM subjects with students progressing to courses in Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering, Marine Biology, Earth Sciences and Medicine. Against the national trend Art subjects continue in popularity amongst our students leading to courses in History and Politics, History of Art, Egyptology, Classical Literature and Law.
In the Sixth Form there is a choice of traditional and applied subjects supported by a programme of academic enrichment together with the increasingly popular EPQ.
Highlights this year include Erin securing 4A* in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Latin. After a gap year as an organist at Manchester Cathedral the talented musician hopes to combine an organ scholarship with studying Computer Science at Cambridge University.
