Thank you for your interest in St Bede’s College. Whilst the majority of our pupils will gain entry into the College aged 11, if there are places available, we will consider pupils for other year groups also. This website will provide a snap-shot of how good the College is, nothing will replace coming in and experiencing that tangible atmosphere for yourself.
Please contact me at: email@example.com to arrange a tour of the College and to meet Dr Robson our Headmaster. I will then organise for your son or daughter to experience a Taster Day at the College to find out first-hand what it would be like to be a St Bede’s pupil.
The next step is the entrance assessment for pupils entering the College at age 11 which is comprised of an English paper, VR paper and a computer based Maths assessment. There are exemplar papers available for the English and VR assessments but pupils cannot be tutored for the Maths test and therefore there are no past papers. What we can say is this will give a true picture of your child’s potential in a relaxed environment.
I look forward to welcoming you to the College soon.
Interviews and Offer
All candidates and their parents are warmly invited to meet the Headmaster and take a tour of the College during a working day. We hope this will provide prospective parents with a flavour of the academic rigour of the College and the purposeful diligence the pupils exhibit.
The College sends out offers on the date agreed by the Greater Manchester Consortium of Independent Schools and state grammar schools. This date usually occurs at the end of February. In accordance with the procedure agreed by the schools within the Consortium, parents are given twelve days in which to accept the offer of a place.
Entry to Other Year Groups
Applications to enter the College in year groups other than Year 7 are welcomed and are considered on a case-by-case basis.
If there are places available, prospective pupils are invited to experience a Taster Day with us to ascertain what it would be like to be a St Bede’s pupil. An entrance assessment is then taken to gain entry to the College.
To consider this option, please contact Helen Taylor our Admissions Officer: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Admissions Officer will arrange a meeting with Dr Robson our Headmaster and for you to take a guided tour of the College to experience the unique ethos of St. Bede’s for yourself.
