Who We Are
The Bedian Association is made up of a group of committed parents, teachers and friends with a primary aim of raising funds for the benefit of all the pupils of St Bede’s College. Our other objectives are to increase parental awareness of The Bedian Association, to refresh our current repertoire of events and to develop new ones to engage more families. With our children spanning across the full spectrum of the College year groups, we understand the needs of both the pupils and the College.
Our motto is ‘The Bedian Association – An Extension of the Family’.
Traditionally, our Christmas Fair is the major fund-raising event of the year, raising in excess of £11,000 in 2014.
- Friday 31 March 2017 THANK YOU Social event @ Chorlton Irish Club 7.00pm – late
- Friday 31 May 2017 Afternoon tea with the Headmaster (Headmaster’s Lawn) – in conjunction with the Plant Sale 2.30pm – 4.30pm
What are we fundraising for?
Our main funding objective this year was to acquire a 17-seater minibus, which would benefit the whole College. We are also looking to make contributions to the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, the Prep First Communion presents and the Lourdes Appeal.
With regards our main funding drive for the College this year, i.e. the minibus, we are very pleased to announce that thanks to the generous participation of the whole Bedian community we have achieved our target and the minibus has now been ordered and should arrive in late April.
In previous years we have contributed to the major re-surfacing work of the Prep and College playgrounds.
