Mr Charlie Woan begins his role as the College’s Assistant Head CFA at the beginning of this term. Mr Woan joins the Bedian Family from Wade Deacon High School where he progressed from a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)in 2002 to a Senior Leader in 2011 and will bring a breadth of knowledge, understanding and skills to St Bede’s College.

Mr Woan is very familiar with the Academy Programme having led the Everton FC Academy pupils at Wade Deacon. He has worked with the likes of Everton’s Tom Davies and Kieran Dowell and is relishing the opportunity to help and support the College’s current CFA pupils. At interview, Mr Woan talked openly and honestly about his desire to support the Catholic ethos and values of the college and vowed to ensure that all pupils aim to be “the best version of themselves.”

Mr Woan loves to travel and has coached at football camps in America during his University years and has experience of many ski and sports tours to Europe and USA in addition to a tour of schools in India with the British Council. Mr Woan, who also held the role of Educational Visits Coordinator at his previous school for many years explained that “School trips, visits and tours are so vital for the development of the whole child. School visits whether local or abroad provide long lasting memories and a greater understanding and awareness of cultures and the way people live their lives around the world.”
