The Under 14 Academy boys have been involved in a Holocaust memorial project in conjunction with the Premier League – Holocaust Education Programme.
Mr Lee and Ms Whitney have produced informative materials to put the project into a context that the boys could understand. We chose the theme of butterfly in order to remember the 15,000 children who died in the Terzin concentration camp. Many thanks to Mrs Park in the art department for creating the template for the butterfly and to Mr John Joyce-O’Keefe who filmed and edited the completion of the butterfly.
A book, ‘ …I never saw another butterfly’, was the inspiration for the project. This book contains children’s drawings and poems all completed under horrific conditions in Terzin.
