The build up to the end of term has been packed with song, dance, film, theatre and entertainment. It all started with the Key Stage One Christmas Concert “Lights…Camel…Action!” The Pupils were delighted to present this year’s production. A glitter ball and disco lights set the scene for our sparkly show. The performance was jam packed with a cast of nativity celebrities which celebrated Jesus’s birth with a dazzling dance extravaganza.

With all the marvellous, show stopping singing and dancing, audiences could be forgiven for thinking they were watching a professional show but this was Strictly.. the Nativity, St Bede’s style. The cast had worked tirelessly to learn and deliver expressive performances off by heart. Their acting was utterly fantastic and it is hard to believe that the children involved are aged from 5 to 7 years old. The whole performance was brought to it’s grand finale with the children’s version of a song from The Greatest Showman.

Next up was the EYFS Nativity “A Little Bird Told Me”.
Our Nursery and Reception class were absolutely brilliant in their Nativity performance and we are all incredibly proud of every one of them. The children have worked extremely hard to learn all of their lines and a staggering eleven songs! The children sang so beautifully and all looked amazing in their fabulous costumes.

On Tuesday 11 December, the Prep Choir attended an annual event ‘Sing for Christmas’ at a packed Manchester Cathedral. ‘Sing for Christmas’ is an annual evening event ran by the organisers of The Children’s Society and conducted by Phillip Dewhurst, Director of Music; Cheadle Hulme School. The children took part in the event with six other schools from the Manchester area and were required to sing two songs with the other schools – those two songs were ‘The Colours of Christmas’ by John Rutter and ‘Starlight’ by Giles Swayne. In addition to this the children of the St. Bede’s choir performed their own song ‘What Can I give him’ by Jean Anne Shafferman where we heard beautiful solos by Darcey Brickwood  and Jojo. They performed brilliantly; their behaviour was impeccable and we are so proud of them all. Well done Prep Choir!

On Wednesday it was time for Christmas Dinner and Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for the Good Life Orphanage and the Brain Tumour Charity (Luke Fallon Fund).

The annual “Carols by Candlelight” ended the term with the whole of Key Stage Two performing for parents, family and friends. Their singing was fantastic; it filled the chapel and corridors with the harmony of joy, excitement and wonder of Advent.
